Roofing terms · definition

The board at the eave covering rafter tails and carrying the gutter. Rot here is usually a sign of gutter or drip-edge failure.

    Metal edging at eaves and rakes that directs water into the gutter and off the fascia. Code-required and a frequent omission on cheap roofs.

  • Galvalume

    A zinc-aluminum-coated steel substrate giving metal roofing strong corrosion resistance; a common base for residential metal panels.
